معاً نحقق هدف و حلم أي طفل كان من المصابين بالتشوهات الخلقية و المكتسبة القلبية بأن يتمكن من الحصول على فرصة إجراء عملية جراحية تخفف من معاناته وتخفف من عبء يثقل كاهل الكثيرين من أهالينا . ولا ننسى أن مثل هذا التخصص سيصبح متوفر.. بلدنا من خلال تردد المؤسسة العالمية لقلب الأطفال وتعاونها معنا وتدريب الأطباء اليمنيين في ...جراحة قلب الأطفال , التخدير وانعاش قلب أطفال, أختصاصيين في قلب الأطفال. وهذا الشيء بطبيعة الحال في الوقت الحاضر غير متوفر في بلدنا. فهل نضل ننتظر وحتى متى . أم نبقى نعتمد من سيزور البلد مرة كل كام عام . أعتقد أن الجميع إن هم أمعنوا النظر في الأمر فسيجدون أن هذا البرنامج الفريد من نوعه الذي قدم لبلدنا . حتى اليوم.

  International Children's Heart Foundation Hearts without Borders writes Dr. Novick at the ICHF. HMMMM, well, we will be in the Dominican Republic in April, we can operate on her there. After visa issues are ironed out, $5000 raised for the hospital charge in DR, little Socheath is FIXED. She is recovering in the beautiful Dominican Rebublic and will return home to Cambodia with her dad. Awesome!

  This is a WONDERFUL ending but a mass waste of resources in the interim. With such limited $$ to fix more than 7 million hearts we all need to be working together from the start to make sure situations like this are avoided in the future. The sad reality is that although her life was saved, the cost of the trip to the US and back could have repaired more than a few hearts. One of the many reason ICHF's program is SO spectacular - you already know that the most effective way to fix hearts in developing countries is to keep them in developing countries :-)

  Awesome job Dr. Rodrigo Soto, Dr. Juan Ramirez, Frank Molloy and the team! There is a very greatful Southern California Cambodian community and parents. This is story reflects the dedication of a truly international effort. An American cardiologist (Dr. Paul Grossfeld) saw her in Cambodia and manages to help the child come to the US for surgery. She was initially accepted for surgery but was later refused at a US center. An ICHF Surgeon from Chile (Dr. Rodrigo Soto) and Dominican cardiologist (Dr. Juan Ramirez) agree to take her case after consulting with other ICHF doctors. Having crossed yet another ocean, she has a fantastic outcome from a team of dedicated volunteer specialists from around the world working in a small hospital in Santiago, Dominican Republic. This story reflects the passion of our cause and this child embodies the great efforts that even a poor rice farmer's child from Cambodia can elicit from people around the world. Again, great job Rodrigo, Juan, Frank and the April DR team!
